OUR MISSION
Deep in the forests of Western Washington, our founders happened across this sign. In 1994, fifth grade children planted the trees you see, as part of a forest education program. The image of such large trees from the efforts of children inspired our founders to share the experience with the internet through this photo, which received an unexpectedly huge response of both admiration for the children's efforts and intrigue for how to replicate the experience. This in turn inspired the creation of the foundation, and defined its mission.
Creating meaningful change in the direction of global carbon sequestration requires a massive effort from creative problem solvers willing to take on giant challenges. The Carbon Capture Foundation emerged out of a pursuit to inspire and support carbon capture efforts both locally and on a broader scale. Established in 2020, we are a 501(c)(3) organization driven by a love of nature and the need for bold actions. Contact us to learn more and get involved.
