OUR MISSION

Deep in the forests of Western Washington, our founders came across a sign marking a special moment. In 1994, fifth-grade students planted the trees seen here as part of a forest education program. The sight of these maturing trees, the result of the children's efforts, inspired us to share the experience online. The photo garnered an unexpectedly large response, with people expressing admiration for the children's work and curiosity about how to replicate the experience. This response ultimately sparked the foundation's creation and helped define its mission.

Creating meaningful change in global carbon sequestration requires collective effort from innovative problem solvers ready to tackle significant challenges. The Carbon Capture Foundation was born from a commitment to inspire and support carbon capture initiatives, both locally and on a larger scale. Established in 2020, we are a 501(c)(3) organization fueled by a passion for nature and the urgency for bold actions. Contact us to learn more and get involved.
