Partnerships with Landowners
We partner with individual landowners in Washington and Oregon, supplying them with thousands of trees at no cost. The landowners have planted the trees in old pastures, fallow fields, and other unused areas. These plantings capture carbon, provide habitats for various species, and contribute to the growth of timber resources.

Conservation District Partnerships
The Carbon Capture Foundation partners with numerous Conservation Districts in Western Washington to promote tree planting. These partnerships have been and continue to be extremely valuable in spreading our ability to capture carbon. The Foundation has provided thousands seedlings for our Conservation District partners free of charge. In turn, the Conservation Districts planted the seedlings on their own projects or gave them to landowners who planted them on their property, many in riparian areas. These plantings play a vital role in supporting salmon recovery, improving water quality, and sequestering carbon. We look forward to continuing and expanding our relationships with Conservation Districts.

Audubon Society Partnerships
Our Audubon Society chapter partners are dedicated to restoring the native environments birds need to thrive. We collaborate with many Audubon Society chapters, and their commitment to planting trees to benefit our environment continues to inspire us.

Washington State University Extension
Our friends at the WSU Extension Forestry generously share their expertise and knowledge as we continue to expand our tree planting program. They educate us and our partners on best practices to ensure high survival rates. From planting windows to species selection and beyond, their guidance has been invaluable in helping us maximize carbon capture through the growth of healthy trees.

School District Partnerships
We have proudly partnered with Washington school districts, and look forward to building relationships with more as we grow. The Foundation has provided hundreds of seedlings free of charge to high school students, who have had the opportunity to learn planting skills by planting the trees under the guidance of their instructors and foresters.

DNR Webster Forest Nursery
The Foundation collaborates with the Webster Forest Nursery, operated by the Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR). The Foundation has purchased thousands of Douglas fir, Western red cedar, and other conifers from Webster Forest Nursery. These trees have been distributed to landowners and organizations at no cost. The seedlings are typically planted in areas that might otherwise remain unplanted. By providing a readily available seedling source, the Foundation helps replant these areas to capture carbon and enhance the land's value.

Salmon Recovery Project
The Foundation has also partnered directly with Lower Columbia Fish Enhancement Groups, the Cowlitz County Voluntary Stewardship Program, and local families by providing numerous riparian plants which support salmon recovery projects. The long term goal is to improve the salmon habitat in the Toutle River and to restore the salmon run in Hemlock Creek, with the plantings serving to sequester carbon.
